Ever wanted to have a go?

LESSONS

If you want to have a go at pottery, please do get in touch. I run a variety of lesson types and can quote for a bespoke set of lessons to meet your needs. My studio is based in Peppard Common in Oxfordshire, and can easily accommodate a group of up to 4 people, with each having access to a wheel for throwing and table space for hand building and casting.

Weekly Lessons

  • Run in line with school half terms

  • Each half term consists of between 5 and 7 sessions, each 2hrs in length. The minimum sign up is for one half term block.

  • Max. 4 students per class

  • The main focus will be on learning to throw on the wheel, using stoneware clay. Each student will have access to their own wheel. There will be some teaching of hand building and casting.

  • Lessons cost £38 each and there is a small additional charge calculated at the end of each half term that covers firing costs for all finished glazed pieces. This is subject to changing energy costs, but as a guide, ranges between £10 and £30 per half term.

  • Please use the contact page to ask any questions or to request to join the waiting list

  • Current class times: Monday 1-3pm; Monday 6.15-8.15pm; Thursday 6.30-8.30pm.

  • It is recommended that you book a one-off 'Introduction to Pottery' lesson prior to joining the regular class.

  • Bring an apron, jewellery should be removed, and long hair tied back. Please wear clothes and shoes that you don't mind becoming clay splattered.

  • A notebook is highly recommended.

  • Tea, coffee and water will be provided during a ten minute break. You may also bring a water bottle.
